China has established a multitude of autonomous area, based on where there are concentrations of various ethnic minority groups. For now, this is best explained by the series "Preview" video.
You will learn that autonomous areas fall into three classifications. From large to small these are: Autonomous Regions, Autonomous Prefectures, and Autonomous Counties
The videos will introduce the autonomous areas and also give information about the ethnic minorities residing in the area.
